Football Foodies
ABOUT THE BLOGGERS
Betty Fraser
Betty is a loud, crazy, and no-holds-barred chef! She’s a “tell it like it is” kind of woman and always demands perfection from anyone cooking in her restaurant. Betty is passionate about the culinary world and says that food should be fun and flavorful and anyone should be able to eat all kinds of cuisine without being intimidated.
As owner of the popular Los Angeles eatery Grub Restaurant and As You Like It Catering, this self-taught chef began her career cooking for friends and testing out recipes for anyone that would sit down and test her dishes. Check the “football foodies” blog all season for delicious offerings from this Top Chef.
Michael Midgley
Michael is hysterically funny, extremely open, and so alarmingly blatant that it is hard to believe he ever gets serious. As a line cook at Wine and Roses Restaurant in Lodi, CA, and a former bar owner, this is one chef who has the experience and personality to grab attention. He credits his grandmother as one of the chefs that he admires most, and feels that people will underestimate him throughout the competition.
Michael likes to joke around with just about everyone, but when it comes to the kitchen, he’s all business. She his football-inspiring creations here, all season long.
Josie Smith-Malave
Josie’s loud personality, wild clothing and “out-there” demeanor are one in a million, and Josie makes her presence known everywhere she goes. Born and raised in Miami, FL and currently residing in Brooklyn, NY, Josie has been cooking all of her life and says that it is her competitive nature that has gotten her to where she is today.
As a former Sous Chef for the famed Marlow and Sons restaurant in New York City and holding a degree from the Art Institute of New York City, Josie has impressive credentials sure to heat up the competition. There is never a dull moment for Josie, as she is an active member of the NY Sharks Women’s Professional football team and is just as aggressive in the kitchen as she is on the gridiron.
Tre Wilcox
A self-taught chef, Tre worked his way through the ranks to become the main chef at Abacus, one of the best restaurants in Dallas. The proud father of two, he remains extremely passionate about both his family and his food. It’s all in the presentation for Tre, who considers the spoon his paintbrush. He lives by the motto “make it nice or make it twice.” In great shape, he loves the gym almost as much as cooking.
