Salmon a la Plancha

Salmon a la Plancha on Lettuce Cups with Pickled Vegetables & Peanuts
Prep Time: 30 minutes
Serves: 4-5
Directions:
Cut salmon into “pinky strips" and marinate in extra-virgin olive oil and curry; grill until done.
To Plate:
Add lettuce to bowl. In another bowl, pickle carrots and daikon with vinegar and sugar then add to lettuce. Season with herbs, cucumbers, soy sauce and peanuts. Skewer salmon a la plancha and top bowl with skewer.
Ingredients:
1 lb salmon
1 oz extra-virgin olive oil
1 pack madras curry
1 Boston lettuce
1 carrot, julienned
1 daikon
3 cups vinegar
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 bunch mint
1 bunch cilantro
1 cucumber, sliced
1 bottle soy sauce
Handful peanuts, crushed

I think this was one of the best dishes in episode 2. It was overlooked and I think that it deserves appreciation. I am going to try out this recipe this weekend. I think that scientist/chef guest judge needs to stop worrying about foams and hydro concocted test tube food and eat some real food.
