Any chance of a timeframe here? At least an approximate marinating and a cooking time? (What, 1 day, 1 hr?)

Or, how about a cooking method for the mushrooms and edamame. I'm assuming you grill the 'shrooms and steam the edamame??

MeMeMe wrote:

Made it last night...the bbq sauce is very odd, and looks nothing like bbq sauce. It looked and tasted like nuoc cham. Is there an ingredient or step missing?

GVegas wrote:

I made this as well and there's definitely either an ingredient missing, or a heating step missing, but something is missing that turns the BBQ sauce to the consistency pictured above. the flavor was good, the texture was completely different from the picture.

Made it tonight and I just added corn starch to the BBQ while heating it to add thickness to it.

I heated the sauce on the stove until it started bubbling and then reduced it to simmer while the meat cooked on the grill. It thickened up just fine without using any cornstarch. It had a nice spicy flavor! The recipe is confusing because it sounds like you cook everything and then put it on the skewers. I grilled the pork, onion and pineapple on the skewers.

Also heated the sauce on the stove and added corn starch to add thickness. I cut my mushrooms and that's not on the recipe, but it makes it easier to marinade and cook. Smells divine!
