Red Sangria

Red Sangria

Directions:
Red Sangria:
Combine all fruits with simple syrup and mash with slotted spoon. Add remaining ingredients.

1 quart oranges, sliced
2 lemons, juiced
1/2 gallon simple syrup
2 sticks cinnamon
4 pieces star anise
10 apples, diced
5 bottles red wine

Sangria is a nice alcoholic fruit punch but I see your point. I've never had it served with that much fruit in the cup, or in the ingredients for that matter. Simple solution to make it more visually appealing- strain the liquid from the fruit and skewer a few pieces to serve like a cocktail.
